Kediri (Jatimsmart.id) – Ketua TP PKK Kota Kediri Ferry Silviana Abdullah Abu Bakar berbagi kita untuk mengurangi produksi sampah plastik. Dimana hal itu dapat dimulai dari kebiasaan yang dilakukan sehari-hari. Wanita yang akrab disapa Bunda Fey ini berbagi kiatnya dalam peringatan Hari Peduli Sampah Nasional, Selasa 21 Maret 2023, di BTN Rejomulyo.

“Di sini saya berbagi upaya yang telah saya lakukan dalam mengurangi sampah. Apa yang saya lakukan ini bisa dimulai secara pribadi tanpa melibatkan orang lain. Prinsip mengurangi sampah harus berangkat dari diri sendiri. Kalau kita punya kemauan pasti segala hal akan menerapkan prinsip tersebut,” ujarnya.

Bunda Fey menceritakan langkah pertamanya untuk mengurangi produksi sampah plastik dimulai pada tahun 2016. Dimana saat itu, Bunda Fey sudah tidak lagi menggunakan pembalut sekali pakai. Yakni beralih dengan menggunakan menspad ketika mestruasi. Kemudian untuk anak-anak balita minim menggunakan diapers namun menggunakan popok kain. Hal semacam ini harus dimulai sebab sampah dari pembalut ataupun pampers sekali pakai efeknya sangat buruk bagi lingkungan. 

“Hal-hal kecil seperti itu lah yang sebetulnya kita perlukan. Saya sudah berhasil menerapkannya dan saya harap masyarakat juga bisa menerapkannya. Karena kondisi lingkungan kita ini sudah semakin parah maka kita harus masif mengurangi sampah,” ungkapnya.

Istri Wali Kota Kediri Abdullah Abu Bakar ini menambahkan hal lain yang sudah dilakukannya adalah membawa tumbler minuman, tidak menggunakan sedotan plastik, dan tidak menggunakan kantung kresek sekali pakai saat berbelanja. Hal ini mungkin dipandang tidak praktis bagi kebanyakan orang. Namun langkah kecil tersebut dapat menyelamatkan lingkungan. 

“Kalau kita sudah terbiasa kita akan temukan kepuasan ketika kita minim atau bahkan tidak sama sekali memproduksi sampah. Kita harus mulai kurangi sampah karena tidak ada kota yang ingin TPA-nya bertambah dan bertambah. Tidak ada cara lain untuk menekan sampah kecuali dengan kebijakan yang tepat dan kesadaran warganya,” imbuhnya.

Lebih lanjut, Bunda Fey berharap semua warga Kota Kediri untuk lebih sadar menjaga lingkungan. Selain mengurangi produksi sampah, warga juga harus menambah kawasan hijau. Tidak ada lagi aksi menebang pohon sembarangan. 

“Nanti di hari tua yang kita butuhkan adalah lingkungan yang hijau. Pohon-pohon yang ada di sekitar kita ini sangat besar maknanya,” pungkasnya. (*)
