Lumajang (Jatimsmart. Id) – Gunung Semeru yang terletak di 3 kota, Malang, Lumajang dan Probolinggo, Jawa Timur mengeluarkan erupsi pada Sabtu (4/12/2021). Erupsi ini dimulai sekitar pukul 15.00 WIB.
Gunung api tertinggi di Jawa Timur ini mengeluarkan asap pekat berukuran besar berwarna abu-abu. Akibat aktivitasnya itu, masyarakat dan penggali pasir di aliran Sungai Leprak berlarian menjauh menghindar asap pekat.
Belum diketahui apakah ada korban jiwa dalam letusan tersebut.
Berdasarkan video yang beredar, tampak gumpalan asap melambung tinggi. Beberapa daerah juga menjadi gelap seperti malam hari. Sedangkan, warga sekitar yang melihat letusan tersebut terlihat panik berhamburan menyelamatkan diri.
Diketahui, saat ini BPBD Kabupaten Lumajang sedang bergerak untuk mengevakuasi warga. (*)
